| I
met Richie Havens after an Earth Day
show he did in Baltimore Maryland on
4/21/91. It was suppose to be an outdoor
show, at the city zoo, but there was
a nasty storm and they moved it to a
dirty little bar down by the water called
Max's on Broadway. It was pretty comical
because it was an all ages event so
there were all these little kids running
around, rolling on the floor of this
dive of a bar. Anyway, the show was
great, he told some hysterical stories
and sang some classic tunes. After the
show me and my room mate hung out for
a while and Richie Havens came down
from the back stage area and was more
than happy to talk with us. He was so
down to earth, a real quality person. |
