Merl
Saunders seemed to tour relentlessly in the
90's. I got to see him quite a bit and was
fortunate enough to get back stage at many
shows and hang out with him. At the time I
was heavily into the Legion of Mary shows
from '74-'75 and talked with him about that
time period. You could tell by the smile on
his face that he to felt those were magical
shows. But what Merl mostly wanted to talk
about was more immediate. He was on a crusade
to save the Rainforests. He had such a passion
for the Forests he'd visited and he wanted
everyone to lend a hand to protect them.
When I got Merl to sign this photo I had taken
I also gave him a copy of the picture. |
