| My
friend Mattie was lucky enough to win
a 'meet and greet' with MMW when they
did an all acoustic tour in the spring
of 2000. He invited me along and we
got to sit in the front row of Boston's
Jordan Hall while the band did their
sound check. This lasted about 35 minutes
and they actually got into some cool
little jams while they tweeked with
the sound. Afterwords they came down
and sat with the 12 or so of us who
were there. They answered questions,
shot the shit with us and signed what
ever we had for them to sign. I had
taken this photo of them in Aspen in
'97. Before this 'meet and greet' I
went out to one of those do it yourself
enlargment machines and had this blown
up to 8x10. Not the greatest quality
enlargement but I like it when I can
get my own photos signed by the artist(s).
Chris seemed to me the most down to
earth of the three and he got into this
story about this Aspen show. He remarked
that his parents went to this show and
it was rare for them to attend one of
his shows. He said he had pictures of
this show that his mother took from
the stage. I told him that I'm sure
if he looked in the audience of those
pictures he'd be sure to see me. We
were right in front of the stage and
there was not that many people up there,
it was sparsly populated if you can
believe that. |
